Exodus 34:26 (KJV): The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk. Exodus 34:26 (RSV): The first of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring to the house of the LORD your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother’s milk.” Exodus 34:26 (NIV): “Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the LORD your God. “Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.” NOTES: Whether you prefer firstfruits of thy land, of your ground, or of your soil, the reference is to the crops.
